Over The Bridge has partner with Marchesse Health Care and the Hamilton Fringe Festival to create LEARN TO SAVE A LIFE IN GORE PARK in an ongoing effort to prevent tragedy in the face of Canada’s opioid crisis
LEARN TO SAVE A LIFE IN GORE PARK is designed to deliver life saving training, education and two Naloxone Kits at no cost to anyone interested in a safer Hamilton.
The event will focus on:
o introduction and the distribution of opioid overdose prevention education, instructions, and kits
o What opioid overdose signs to look for and how to use a kit
o Good Samaritan Acts
With over 400 opioid overdoses in Hamilton since January 2019, Hamiltonian’s are uniquely positioned to save lives by learning to administer a rescue shot of Naloxone which blocks the physiological effects of opioids. Attendees will receive thorough instruction and 2 free lifesaving overdose kit (Injectable & Spray).
Over the Bridge is music industry mental health and addictions recovery advocate not-for-profit organization, that is brining naloxone training to Hamilton’s general public. Marchese Health Care provides resources and treatment options to people suffering from addiction and their loved ones with the intention of ultimately lessening the impact of addiction on individuals, families and society as a whole.
